Hubby and I had the privilege of being with our first grandson, Jacob, for the whole day today. I am more than thankful for that.
Here is why.
My mother-in-law and a brother-in-law were arriving today from the Philippines and hubby and I thought it would be a great experience for Jacob to have a trip to the airport. Hubby picked him up at the exact time we told him we would but instead of going straight to the airport, he had to have a side trip to our place because the arrival time was delayed for some two hours. When he learned about the change of plans he didn't say anything contrary. He asked for some fruit salad which his Lolo (grandpa) dutifully made for him, wrote on his "diary", then asked that the computer be turned on so he could learn how to read (from a program his dad downloaded).
Because of the traffic, it took us longer than usual to reach the airport. All that we heard was him singing the "Are we there yet" song. Oh, we had some question and answer and story telling moments, too.
We had to wait for another hour before MIL and BIL finally came out, but Jacob simply entertained himself by playing with the toy car he brought with him. Not a whine or a whimper. He only requested that we buy him fries and nuggets from McD.
We brought him home after four hours more. As soon as he got inside, all he said was "Thanks. I am going to sleep now."
To think that he just turned 6 last week!

May God sweetly bless your dear grandson.
Jacob is such a good and behaved little boy.
I'm glad you had a great time with your grandson! Sounds like a pretty mature almost 6 year old--especially compared to my son of the same age :)
The link on TT doesn't go to this post--it goes to Smiley Saturday? You may want to re-post with the correct link.
What a good boy he is! Wonderful. He sounds precious. Thank you so much for the sweet comment on my TT post. May you have a wonderfully Thankful Thursday!
How precious! My mother tells me that grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children. She tells me all the time how they make her life complete. :)
